In India, sunroofs are now considered a luxury feature. But today, even small SUV’s and a high-end hatchback like the Hyundai i20 come with an electric sunroof. As a result, automakers are increasingly providing panoramic sunroofs on their cars. Sunroofs have become increasingly more of a preoccupation in India recently. Modern customers favour adding such improving features to their vehicles to enhance the ownership experience. Well, the appeal of sunroofs can be debated another time. However, for the time being, consumers are relying heavily on this particular feature. Let’s present 20 latest technologies used in Sunroof Cars in India-

1. SX Variant- Hyundai Creta

In India, the Hyundai Creta is the most popular mid-size SUV. It is now the most affordable SUV with a panoramic sunroof. You would need to purchase the SX model, which retails for Rs. 13.79 lakhs ex-showroom, in order to get the panoramic sunroof.

2. 5 Variants- Kia Seltos

Kia Seltos, the sister model of the Hyundai Creta, is another huge success in the Indian market. Additionally, it has the same engine setup as the Creta. There are five different electric sunroof options available: HTX, HTX+, GTX(O), GTX+, and X Line. The Seltos’ prices range from Rs. 10.19 lakhs to Rs. 16.95 lakhs.

3. XZ Plus Variants- Tata Harrier

A panoramic sunroof was added to the Tata Harrier with its significant redesign from the previous year. To have the panoramic sunroof, you would need to get the XZ Plus model. 19.05 lakhs rupees are the ex-showroom price.

4. XT+ Variant- Tata Safari

Earlier this year, the Safari returned. Compared to a more capable SUV, it is now a more luxurious car. Furthermore, Tata provides a panoramic sunroof for the Safari. It is offered in the 18.25 lakh rupees ex-showroom XT+ form.

5. 2 Engine Options- 5th Gen Honda City

One of the most recognizable brands in the automotive sector is Honda City. One of a kind, the iVTECH engine is a treasure. Moreover, the inclusion of a sunroof even improved the total package. A 1.5-l iVTECH petrol engine and a 1.5-l iDTECH diesel engine are also available for the Honda City. While the latter produces 100 horses and 200 NM of torque, the former produces 120 horses and 145 NM. In the VX and ZX trims, an electric sunroof with one touch operation is an option. Starting at Rs. 11.46 lakhs, prices increase.

6. Sky Light Feature- Kia Carens

The Kia Carens also comes with the same engine setup as the Hyundai Creta. The top-tier luxury Plus model adds a sky-light sunroof. Starting at 9.59 lakhs, the price ranges up to 16.59 lakhs.

7. Panoramic Sunroof- MG Astor(Sharp)

The Astor is MG Motor’s most cheap SUV on the Indian market, and the top-of-the-line Sharp model of the mid-size SUV also comes with a panoramic sunroof. With a dual-pane sunroof option and a current price of Rs 14.28 lakh, the Astor is the second most cheap SUV in India. A 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with linked car technology, and a 360-degree camera are additional features available with the top-end model.

8. Petrol Engine Facility- Tata Nexon

One of the Tata Portfolio’s best-selling SUV’s is the Nexon. 1.5-liter diesel and 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engines power the Nexon. Diesel engines provide 110 horsepower and 260 NM of torque, while gasoline engines produce 120 horses and 170 NM. The sunroof is an option starting with XM versions. The Nexon has a starting price of 7.54 lakhs and a maximum price of 13.80 lakhs.

9. XZ Plus Lux Variant- Tata Nexon EV

The Tata Nexon EV has a 30.2kWh battery pack with a 312km range, according to ARAI. It is now the most cheap EV to purchase in India, second only to Tigor EV. The most expensive XZ plus Lux model, which costs Rs 16.65 lakhs, comes with a sunroof.

10. Limited(O) Variant- Jeep Compass

The Compass was updated by Jeep this year. No technical improvements were made, but it did come with a brand-new, significantly enhanced interior. The Limited(O) variant, which has an ex-showroom price of Rs. 22.49 lakhs, comes with a panoramic sunroof.

11. GT Plus Variant- VW Taigun

In India, Taigun was created using the VW 2.0 strategy. There are 1.5-l and 1-l turbocharged petrol engine options available. The 1-liter engine generates 115 horsepower and 178 NM of torque, whilst the 1.5-liter engine used by enthusiasts generates 150 horsepower and 250 NM of torque. The VW Taigun’s Top-line and GT plus variants, which range in price from 14.57 lakhs to 17.49 lakhs, come equipped with an electric sunroof.

12. 3 Row Version- Hyundai Alcazar

Between its five-seat brother and the Tucson in the manufacturer’s Indian lineup, the Hyundai Alcazar was introduced as a three-row version of the Creta. A panoramic sunroof is available with all Alcazar models, which are currently priced between Rs 16.34 lakh and Rs 20.14 lakh. The Alcazar is the only mass-market vehicle available with this option as standard across the whole lineup.

13. Single-Pane Sunroof- Skoda Kusaq

The Skoda Kusaq has the same setup as the VW Taigun. The most expensive Style model, which ranges in price from Rs 14.59 lakh to Rs 17.59 lakh, will come with a single-pane sunroof as standard.

14. Sharp Sunroof- MG Astor

The MG Astor has two engine choices: a 1.5-liter N-A petrol engine that produces 108 horsepower and 144 pound-feet of torque, and a 1.3-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 138 horsepower and 220 pound-feet of torque. The top-tier Sharp model, with prices starting at 17.27 lakhs, comes with a sunroof.

15. “Exclusive” Variant- MG ZS EV

In India, the MG ZS EV is the only electric car available with a panoramic sunroof. This year, the SUV also received an update. The most expensive “Exclusive” edition of it costs Rs. 24.18 lakhs ex-showroom.

16. AX5 Petrol Variant- Mahindra XUV 700

The panoramic sunroof is available in the Mahindra XUV700’s AX5 petrol variant for Rs 16.55 lakhs, which was named the Top Gear Car of the Year. Panoramic sunroofs are referred to as Sky-roofs by Mahindra. 2.2 liters of diesel power the XUV700, which also has a 2.0 litre gasoline engine.

17. W8(O) Variant- Mahindra XUV 300

The W8(O) edition of Mahindra’s XUV300, which costs Rs. 12.28 lakh, comes equipped with an electric sunroof. 1.2 litre turbo-petrol and 1.5 litre turbo-diesel engines are available for the XUV300. 200Nm of torque and 109 horsepower are produced by the 1.2-l engine. 20. Electric Sunroof- Maruti Suzuki Brezza

Since it first entered the Indian market, Maruti Suzuki has been concealing the sunroof option. Okay, not any longer. A sunroof option has been added to Maruti’s upgraded 2022 Brezza. A 1.5-liter Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine with 103 horsepower and 137 NM of torque powers the Brezza. Electric sunroofs are a feature of the top-end and second-top variants, with pricing starting at 12.95 lakhs and up to 16.56 lakhs.
